price is 327$ US |
| I looked at the auction, they are 160ws lights. Not much power through a light box or off a reflector. They should be okay for still shots though. It's a good price for so much stuff, a good start. You will want a more powerful flash unit, a 400 or 600 would be more useful. Don't go with incandescent or tungsten lights for glamor, they melt mere humans. |
Hi, Im looking for amateur glamour models to help me launch a website with a difference. Any offers?? Thanks!? Im seeking amatuer female models who may like to help me with a leg glamour website. | Yeah, JUST what the internet REALLY needs! another porn site. I just can't believe how FEW there are on the net. |
How to get amateur photographers into my studio for glamour photo shoot? I have a small studio in a suburban location. I have a several young models who need work. No touching. No exposed genitalia. I'm not a pimp. They are not whores.
I'm thinking around $150 for a 90 minute session. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35 Digital Camera for the customer to use (my current back-up) and this lighting kit www.adorama.com/SVFL270.html we will use my studio and a variety of backgrounds. 45 minutes shooting. 45 minutes editing. All photos remain my property, but I will give you a 11x14 print from my Epson Stylus.
Does this sound reasonable? The model gets $75 for a hour. She will be clothed to semi-nude. You will have a choice of about 6 women, 19 to 27 years old. One light skinned black, the others white.
Any suggestions as to how to make this more professional or legitimate is appreciated. |
hang on - have I read this right.
You are wanting to get amateur photographers to use your studio to shoot young models.
You will supply the camera and even though they will be taking the pictures they will "remain" your property.
You will "give" a print and for this you are going to charge them 150.
You HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING.
1. no photographer, amateur or otherwise will agree to that
2. the only people going to take up that offer would be the raincoat brigade and why should they when they can sit in a strip club for most of the day for less than that.
3. An amateur photographer would have their own camera(s)
4. copyright of the images would be the photographers
5. this is the most unprofessional, idiotic, badly thought out idea I have heard in a long time. |
What is the average annual salary of a professional photographer? I've always been interested to know this. How much can a professional photographer earn? For example, maybe a glamour photographer with a website for amateur models? |
most photographers such as myself are self employed so it's up to you how much you earn.
on average you charge by the hour and this rate depends on where you live (it's much more in London).
for a photographers assistant it's minimum wage, but for the photographer it is between £75- £150 an hour depending on the job. But you have to be very good and know the right people as there is massive competition.
p.s sorry mate but the best glamour photographer at the min is a women, models seem to prefer it. |
Getting work as a model photographer? I am an amateur photographer and I have a strong desire to photograph models of all sorts (fashion, nudes, plus size, glamour, etc.) But I'm not exactly sure about how to break into that industry. I've tried looking for models online who will do work for prints and not for pay but it doesn't attract anyone. Is there a better way? Does anyone know of websites that I can visit? I really just need to gain the experience so I can start a portfolio. |
| I've got the perfect website for you... www.modelmayhem.com. There is plenty of models on that website that are willing to work for tfcd or tfp. You can search by your area and you can put out casting calls... It's really a great website and I've gotten to work with quite a few models from it... all tfcd. |
How hard is it to get into the field of fashion and glamour photography as a career? because i'm honestly sort of looking into it. i'm just an amateur photographer in high school, but i actually could see myself doing this. i love both fashion and photography, and i think it would be awesome to combine the two of them in a career :] but i have a few questions, for one, how crowded is the field? because i know that photography in general has become crowded due to digital photography, but i wasn't sure how hard it had hit the fashion and glamour area...i would love to work for somewhere like vogue as a photographer [[or a designer, but thats another basket of bisuits entirely lol]] but thats just an example, as i would imagine vogue is like beyond impossibly to achieve :P lol. and 2. how hard is it to get started in that field?
and i have some photos of mine just to give you an example of what i've done already, but mind you i know i'm not the best photographer yet, i've taught myself everything i know about photography, and i've only got my 10mp point and shoot canon powershot a1000is to use...
heres 3 that i've done:

www.flickr.com/photos/26969509@N0…

and i know those arent all that glamour type, but i havn't gotten to do a glamour type shoot with my friends yet :P
thsnks so much for your time and input! :D |
hello there! :)
i'll try to give you as much info as you need. though im not a professional photographer, i know enough about the industry.
the fashion industry is already a super competitive industry to try to get into, whether it is in designing, or working at a magazine.
first of all, get to work with models! whether they are friends, or real models, get to learn and know the best angle to shoot models to make the clothes and model look beautiful. because, you're job as a fashion photographer is to really just make the clothing look beautiful.
i would recommend making a model mayhem account on www.modelmayhem.com its an awesome site where you can find models that are trying to create their portfolio and usually work for free. its especially great when you are trying to find people in your area.
make sure you have an impressive portfolio of your own work. also, master photoshop and, again, making the picture as beautiful as it can be. BUT dont overdo it with a whole bunch contrast and over-saturation.
finally, make sure you are ready to make a commitment. photography is an extremely expensive hobby. (800 dollars for a lens?! haha its crazy). i would buy a beginners SLR camera, for example, a nikon D60 or canon rebel xs.
but honestly, if you REALLY want it, go for it!!
having a dream is honestly the best thing because its something that you love that you are willing to work for. so good luck!!
hopefully i helped!

Pin-up photography shoot? I'm an amateur photographer and I'm doing a pin-up photo shoot of my friend on Thursday in a studio. She has a good amount of clothing and props to use in the shoot and a pin-up illustration book to give us ideas. I do work in a portrait studio (at Sears), but I definitely don't have much experience in something like pin-up/glamour shoots. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!
PS I'm using my D40x with various lenses |
| The Pin up look on white has a shadowless look on white most of the times. Shoot with soft light umbrellas are OK soft boxes better even power at 45 deg. to subject and if you can pop the white background with two more light to blow off any detail. Should be one stop over the main exposure. Go slow work the pose and get ready for allot of post work in photo shop. |
Website development? I am starting a website for glamour photographers. Serious amateurs. If you do glamour photography as a hobby, you have to be serious, because it is an expensive hobby. I would like your suggestions as to how the site might be developed. And any constructive criticism would be welcome.

Question for fellow photographers.. need advice? Hi people, so I'm an amateur photographer and have a shoot scheduled for next week, at a model's place, i am paying $400 for a few hour glamour shoot... well she advises me she has snakes and dogs in her house in case I have a fear.. well I am not a fan of either one, especially in my case having a camera and being a total stranger.. so do i cancel the shoot or maybe try to set another location at a later date? |
| $400!!! If that's not some third world country's dollars I hope that price includes a happy finish. |
She wants a makeover [pics included]? I am an amateur photographer and my friends daughter wants a photoshoot the day before school starts and a makeover for the new school year. (kind of like glamour shots)

She also wants a haircut before the pictures. What cut would you recommend?
Any suggestions would help: hair cut-style, clothing, makeup, color of braces etc.
